finally!!!
I FINALLY FINISHED MY FIRST LARGE PAINTING. WEIGHING IN AT 17 LBS. 3' H X 4' W!
HERE I HAVE PHOTOGRAPHED SOME OF THE TEDIUS PROCESS THAT I UNDERTOOK TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT. I NORMALLY WORK WITH CANVAS' THAT ARE ABOUT 1/2 THIS SIZE SO, PREPARING FOR THIS PROJECT WAS A BIT NERVE WRECKING. AT FIRST I WANTED A CENTRAL IMAGE THAT WAS VERY WELL THOUGHT OUT AND SHOWED THAT THE PAINTING WAS COMPLETE AND MEANINGFUL. AFTER WEEKS OF CONCEPTUALIZING, I REALIZED THAT NO IDEA THAT I WAS COMING UP WITH WOULD MATCH THE IMAGE THAT I WANTED TO PORTRAY. I THEN DECIDED TO GO WITH THE EXACT OPPOSITE AND PAINT SOMETHING WITH LITTLE TO NO MEANING AND JUST HAVE FUN. I USUALLY DONT DO THIS, BUT I AM PRETTY HAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME!
